Hebrews chapter 1, verses 1-2
v1. In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
v2. but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
The God of the Bible is living, he’s personal, he speaks. (Only persons speak)
And that personal God spoke to Israel in the past, through their prophets,
and he has spoken TO US in these last days a message,
But what is the message of God to us?
Short version: (look at verse 2 of Hebrews 1)
The message God spoke to us is by his Son, through his Son, but it IS his Son.
His Son is God’s message to us.
But what is the message about his Son?
v2. ‘..in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom he made the universe’.
Q. Do you know what an heir is?
Yes, an heir inherits, but what does the heir get to do with what he inherits?
Whatever he wants, to be in charge of it, to be the ruler over it.
Q. What is this Son, Jesus, heir and ruler of?

Jesus is God’s appointed heir and ruler over everyone of us…that’s you, me, all people.
